So much stuff

December 12, 2022

Week has been wild, I can say that much. Monday was a lot of packing and the next day I headed off to Eugene. The car ride was very long, very pretty, and now I am here! From day one I knew we were gonna be going full steam ahead. We have contacted so many people, put 2 people on date, got 9 return appointments, and the members have been feeding us very well. There are so many people to visit here it is almost too much to handle. Luckily my companions know this area pretty well, they have both been here more than once throughout their time serving missions.

As zone leader we have to lead a couple meetings and stuff, sadly I got put in charge of one, and I definitely got some stage fright and fumbled. Oh whale, it happens. I am struggling to get to know everyone, but it will come with time. Hopefully I can memorize their names at least and kinda get to know how each of the companions are doing.

Something I learned this week is that exact obedience will bring blessings. Elder Christensen, my comp who is about to head home, used to be AP, and he is all about being obedient. Definitely a struggle sometimes but we have seen way too many miracles this week of finding people, getting in contact with some, and just having fire lessons so there must be something to it. One of the scriptures I found this week is in Doctrine and Covenants 130: 20-21 and it says:
“There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated— And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated.”
Doing what we are supposed to is hard, we don't always know why, but they come with blessings. Tithing and giving fast offerings are hard, but I have seen some of the miracles they can bring to those in need and supporting missionary work. On top of that the people who are obedient have been blessed greatly with new friends, stability in life, and so many other things. Trust in the Lord, follow His commandments, and everything will work out.

Merry Christmas guys, keep it up and enjoy the days off of school. Hope all is well and please send me your favorite scriptures. I'm trying to make a list
