Zone Conference (Note: At least read the End)

Image
Hey guys, this week was sweet! P Day was fun, we went on a hike, hung out, ate food which was fun. I have come to find that food is very important for the Spanish branch. They get mad if we don't come to their restaurants to get free food, I mean I'm not complaining though. We also had zone conference which is where they get everyone in the southern part of the mission over here, and we do a big churchy thing with President Weekes. It was super cool. We just talked about how our focus needs to be on Christ in everything we do. Our messages need to always relate back to him, and we need to have a Christ centered mission culture. Super cool stuff, and then we got to go to Texas Roadhouse after (It's better in Texas). This week was incredibly busy though. We have had an investigator lesson or 2 every day and there are a lot of them that are willing to learn more. We had a member baptism last night, and we invited a few friends with us, and they were all able to make friends wi...

Baptism!

What's up guys! Not a WHOLE lot happened this week, but it was fun. Lots of service on the pear farm, food pantries, and yard work. Been fun, I got to play with some pigs which was cool. Meeting tons of people, and it's getting a little bit easier to talk with random people. It's crazy though these kids don't start school for another week!  It's been fun sharing experiences with the other missionaries and hearing members stories (although I can't understand too much of them) my life feels very blessed. There are a lot of homeless people and druggies everywhere, and it's wild. The interactions with them are uncomfortable to say the least. My goal for now is just trying not to judge people and doing my best to see others as God sees them. It is difficult but it brings so many blessings. I challenge you guys to join me. We keep finding new people to teach everywhere though which is cool. So many people just want a place to belong. We got a lesson tonight, hopef...

Field Week One! Bye bye CCM

Image
This week has been wild. My district in the CCM left this Monday while me, Elder Malasky and the sisters stayed behind until Wednesday. Those days were rough, we just didn't have much to do. It was hard saying goodbye to everyone, there were each so amazing, (you will do great guys).  Wednesday was crazy, I spent the entire day traveling around, over 12 hours on a plane or car, even more time at the airport. It was good though. I got to get some Chick-fil-A which was amazing after CCM food. I am now in Central Point, Oregon! My zone is crazy, but these dudes are awesome. My trainer is Elder Johnson, I'm his first greenie (new missionary). I think he's doing good dunno. Apparently I arrived at the time of year for pear harvesting at the church farm so I'll be working there a lot. Also, Central Point has a Magic the Gathering and D&D store, it looks like I've been asked to teach everyone how to play, my inner (and outer) nerd is very excited. Cool stuff, yesterday...

WEEK 6 Last One!

Image
The week has been pretty basic. It rained quite a bit this week so everything is absolutely soaked. We have learned quite a bit this week. For the past 4 weeks we have been teaching an “investigator” (our teacher's alter ego) named Kevin. It's been a joy teaching him, and I've learned a lot more than taught. Anyway, it's been cool to teach him about the plan of salvation, the plan of happiness, and it has been cool to see the spirit come when we teach. James 1:5 and the first vision are amazing and powerful. I challenge you to read them. Spanish is improving, subjunctive mood is insane, but it's been fun to see the complexities of Spanish. We now have well over 1000 people in the CCM and the food quality is negatively correlated with the number of people. Let's just say my stomach has not been happy with me this week. My many mosquito bites don't help. However, my district has been able to have some fun, I got destroyed in basketball, tennis, ultimate frisbe...
