Field Week One! Bye bye CCM
This week has been wild. My district in the CCM left this Monday while me, Elder Malasky and the sisters stayed behind until Wednesday. Those days were rough, we just didn't have much to do. It was hard saying goodbye to everyone, there were each so amazing, (you will do great guys).
Wednesday was crazy, I spent the entire day traveling around, over 12 hours on a plane or car, even more time at the airport. It was good though. I got to get some Chick-fil-A which was amazing after CCM food.
I am now in Central Point, Oregon! My zone is crazy, but these dudes are awesome. My trainer is Elder Johnson, I'm his first greenie (new missionary). I think he's doing good dunno. Apparently I arrived at the time of year for pear harvesting at the church farm so I'll be working there a lot. Also, Central Point has a Magic the Gathering and D&D store, it looks like I've been asked to teach everyone how to play, my inner (and outer) nerd is very excited.
Cool stuff, yesterday I got to teach 2 investigators, one of wish is getting baptized next week! The other is a family who is super interested in the Book of Mormon. They were friends with a family, but their friends passed away during covid and they grew interested in their church. Then boom we showed up at the door, definitely a miracle. It's quite beautiful here, little warmer than Mexico, but oh whale.
It's awesome to see the light in people's eyes as we share in broken Spanish, but the spirit is always strong. I challenge you guys to share something with one person this month, doesn't have to be much.
Anyway, see ya guys, be back with more news next week. PS. If you have any cheap recipes send them over, desserts or meals are good.
Elder Porter Out!
