Baptism!
What's up guys! Not a WHOLE lot happened this week, but it was fun. Lots of service on the pear farm, food pantries, and yard work. Been fun, I got to play with some pigs which was cool. Meeting tons of people, and it's getting a little bit easier to talk with random people. It's crazy though these kids don't start school for another week!
It's been fun sharing experiences with the other missionaries and hearing members stories (although I can't understand too much of them) my life feels very blessed. There are a lot of homeless people and druggies everywhere, and it's wild. The interactions with them are uncomfortable to say the least.
My goal for now is just trying not to judge people and doing my best to see others as God sees them. It is difficult but it brings so many blessings. I challenge you guys to join me.
We keep finding new people to teach everywhere though which is cool. So many people just want a place to belong. We got a lesson tonight, hopefully it goes well. Spanish is improving, it's amazing to see how happy people are that we are trying their language.
On top of all this, we had a baptism yesterday! Tony, a 14 year old boy decided to get baptized. I only got to teach the last 2 messages and didn't get to know him too well, but he is an awesome kid. He's had a hard life, but he is so full of joy, I hope he is able to bring that light to the rest of his family. During his baptism, I was asked to give my testimony on the spot. I was freaking out inside, and I was not in Spanish mode. Butchered what I was trying to say, but luckily people were able to understand the spirit I was trying to bring and the earnestness in which I was trying to give it which was a blessing.
Hope everyone is doing well, love ya guys. Elder Porter out!
